Adam tossed and turned, muttering worriedly to himself in the light sleep he held. He could still remember them saying that his recovery was impossible; somehow, he proved them wrong.
He bolted awake, eyes wide.
"Who's there?"
Adam snarled into the night, not knowing what was there...or who.
Then his confusion died.
He knew what his purpose was.
And somehow he heard a voice.
"You will, I think, prove most useful..."
Adam got up, a new sense of something in his heart.
Purpose...yet more dark than purpose.
He walked out of the room, down the still corridors, that were too quiet, somehow, and his eyes narrowed, as the doors were open. It was just too easy.
As his eyes flashed momentarily, he stepped out onto the grounds, holding his wand; heading for the forest.
Adam Turow was back.
For good.
Different.
